TIPS FOR WOMEN WHO HAVE CURLY HAIR

1. CHOOSE THE CORRECT SHAMPOO

Use a mild shampoo that is free of toxic chemicals, sulphates, alcohol and paraben. Switch to mild shampoos which are paraben free.

2. USE A WIDE-TOOTHED COMB

Each curl can be considered as a potential breaking point, handing gently is the way to go. Use a wide-toothed comb to remove the tangles in your curly hair. Comb from bottom to up to remove the knots if any.

3. SKIP DAILY SHAMPOOS

Frequent shampooing can stretch and stress out fragile strands, and dry out curls. Daily shampooing might extract moisture from your hair and make it drier.

4. AVOID HEATING TOOLS

Blow dryers, flat irons, curling irons, all of these thermal tools lead to breakage. If you’re a hot tool addict, try to wean yourself off of the heat. Excess heat damages the curls, a lot. Let them dry naturally.

5. NEVER BRUSH YOUR CURLS

Only comb your hair with a wide tooth comb before your shower, or gently finger comb after the shower. Remember that wet hair is more prone to breakage, so be super patient and gentle if you’re combing it wet.

6. CONDITION

One of the easiest ways to boost your hair’s hydration is by leaving your conditioner in your hair, overnight. Once your product is applied in the shower, apply a shower cap over your hair to prevent it from washing out. Conditioning provides a dose of hydration, nourishment, and protection to your hair.
